Muslim terrorist accused of having rucksack full of knives in Whitehall tells court: ‘I do not recognise the charges’

A suspected terrorist accused of having a backpack full of knives when he arrested by armed officers close to Downing Street told a court today: ‘I do not recognise the charges’.

Khalid Mohammed Omar Ali, 27, was detained by armed officers yards in Whitehall after a stop and search on 27 April.

He was arrested 100 yards from the spot where Khalid Masood was shot and killed after mowing down bystanders in a hired car driven over Westminster Bridge five weeks before.
