Maybe if they arm them…

Crime-fighting robots will be keeping America’s malls safe

Oh this will turn out well.

    • I feel safer already.

      • Blacksmith

But are they governed by the three laws?

        • Watchman

Yes. The solution is that thieves will be exempt from the classification of ‘human being’, and thus fair game for destruction and disposal by robots. A point expounded upon by Asimovs later works.

            Nice dream!

      I sense your despair.

    So they speak Arabic ???

    • El Martyachi

Maybe they have an Islamic sexbot mode.

    • Watchman

On the sacrificial ones that manoeuvre next to a thief and then detonate. Yes, it costs significantly in repair and clean up cost but ensures that any thief doesn’t try this a second time. This also dissuades others.

    Free Ted Kaczynski!

    Sorta look like Daleks.

      First thing I thought of.

“Luckily, the robot was unharmed and only suffered minor scratches and has since returned to work.”

I’m not making this up, I swear.

The robot was quoted as saying “I’m just happy I’ll be able to go back to my robot wife and robot kids tonight!” (OK, I made that part up.)

Some idiots in some town will declare that touching or interfering with a robot is the same thing as physical assault on a person and then the ACLU will sue them to grant civil and human rights to robots.

Good call. It’s already started. Look at the first quote in my post above. CCTV cameras, mounted on glorified RC cars, will soon be granted personhood.

They won’t have a chance against these!
