New French Revolution?

From the Times:

Marine Le Pen stormed into the final straight of the French presidential election last night as mutinous voters humiliated the country’s two established parties.

The historic result, on a turnout close to 80 per cent, pitched the National Front leader into a run-off against Emmanuel Macron, the 39-year-old centrist and political novice, who launched his political movement a year ago. With all the votes counted from last night’s first round, Mr Macron took 23.74 percent with Ms Le Pen on 21.53 per cent.More.

Reality check: The French elite made clear that French voters did not matter much except as virtue signals broadcast to foreign elites. What on earth could possibly have gone wrong?

How did “populism” become such a dirty word? A left-wing journalist offers some thoughts

  • Etobicoke_Gladiator

Two revolutions are occurring simultaneously as France polarizes to an even greater degree:

    (1) The French Leftist/Islamist Revolution. (I think it already began with Charlie Hebdo and the Bataclan.)

    (2) The National Front and Marine Le Pen and the forces against Islam and migrants and immigration, natural and healthy instincts desiring to protect France, restore French democracy and culture and society.

Frankly, the sad thing is that if Macaroni wins the election – a likely scenario – it will be more of the same bullshit that the Hollande government was doing. *sigh*

    • My gut tells me that Macarena is neither “centrist”, nor an “outsider” — he was likely hand-picked by establishmnent Socialists precisely to present that false image and hence a more formidable opponent to Le Pen. I’m sure Socialists around the world are watching Trump and are horrified, and experimenting with every deceptive tactic in the book. Brexit and the ascension of Trump destroyed some forty years of planning for Global Socialist governance, which was obviously supposed to be established in 2017.

They got the Pope on board, the UN on board, the EU on board, and the last remaining “Everest” to climb was getting the U.S. on board, which was supposed to happen with the election of Hillary — the ground already fertile and cultivated by Obama. It’s like that 40 year utopian dream suddenly came crashing down in one fell swoop with the election of Trump. These people are in panic mode — they might not get their fascist Progressive dictatorship after all (at least non-violently through democracy). Or maybe they will. Plus violence always worked for the commies in the past so we best be prepared for both: deception and violence combined. (pretty much the same methodology as the Jihadists)

Superb post, RJ. Indeed, Macarena or Macaroni – I refer to him as the latter, bu your designation is even funnier imho – is a run of the mill Socialist. Excellent analysis above. Thanks!

Macron is a guy who was politically no one a year ago and is pushed by Hollande and his cronies.

French Jews will be caught in the pincers either way.

    • Etobicoke_Gladiator

Of course they will be. It’s just a matter of time.

I believe that any Jews planning on residing in France or Germany or Belgium or Holland, and remaining openly Jewish – as opposed to hiding their identities like modern day Marranos, must leave a.s.a.p. to Israel or the USA or Canada.

Macron is an idiot, a “centrist” who will be indistinguishable from your average French socialist leftist or anyone else other than Marine Le Pen.

The big, big difference for Jews is that today there is Israel, The history of the diaspora teaches us that sooner or later Jews have always had to make life-changing decisions. It happened in Spain (several times) during the Muslim occupation despite the probability that Jews had lived in the Iberian Peninsula since the Babylonian exile and most certainly since the later Roman occupation. It happened in both western and eastern Europe in the wake of the nationalizing movements of the mid-19th century.

Because Zionism is part of our DNA whether one is religious or secular our political loyalties are always suspect. Trying to resolve the contradictions is enough to make anyone meshuggenah!

    • ellake

NO, there are problems with Jews in France.
The Jewish organisation in France CRIF asked Jews to vote for Macron. Sorry, BCF are they stupid, or just masochists?
“Le Conseil représentatif des institutions juives de France (Crif) a
lancé dimanche soir un «appel clair à voter pour Emmanuel Macron» face à
Marine Le Pen au second tour de l’élection présidentielle.”

      • Etobicoke_Gladiator

Naive, stupid, and deluded. Believe me, my mother is of French-Jewish background – born and raised in France before moving to Canada – and most of her family stayed there after WW II.

Toronto Star and Crescent says that the reason for the election results was “a wave of popular anger over the country’s stagnant economy and shaky security”….nothing about the elephant in the room called Islam.

Today’s other stupidity in the Star – Students in arts focused high schools are mostly white and wealthy…yup it’s discrimination…”If you are a hip-hop dancer or a spoken word artist or a graffiti artist you are not likely to get in”…

Let me guess, by “spoken word artists” they mean Rap music…what about Mo’s who chant the Quran?

  • David Murrell

The media cartel today are happy with the result, in the sense that Macron will be the likely winner two weeks from today. Albeit the media promote Macron as being to the “left” of Le Pen, technically he is more conservative than her on pure economic issues. Le Pen is more right wing on the handling of Islam, and this is a core issue over the next two weeks. Seems to me Macron is another pretty-face Trudeau. If Macon appeases Islam, this foreshadows even more trouble for France.

So Marine “stormed into the final straight”. Really? I suppose she and her troops stormed in guns blazing, etc., etc. The bias is nauseating.
