Activists Claim Berkeley ‘Anti-Fascist’ Attacker Is College Instructor Eric Clanton

During the Saturday confrontation between Trump supporters and so-called “anti-fascist” protesters in Berkeley, California, a young man was assaulted by a masked protester who slammed him in the head with a bicycle padlock, drawing blood.

Makes you wonder what he teaches in his Ethics class, and whether this is of the form, ‘If you see a Nazi, punch him’ because the Nazis were bad.

I note he also claims to teach ‘critical thinking’ where in actuality his ‘critical thinking’ is probably really the ideological ‘Critical Theory’. Sounds similar, but worlds apart. Critical thinking attempts to objectively discover the truth by examining all evidence, evaluating and discarding all false evidence and making conclusions that incorporate the true evidence. Critical Theory is a neo-Marxist idea that our current civilisation is stuck at the stage of Capitalisation and thus must be destroyed to allow the inevitable progression to the final stage of Communism. As part of this destruction, people have to see the flaws in our civilisation and when they do they will eventually rise up in revolution to destroy it; Critical Theory seeks only to criticise and not to posit solutions since fixing problems will only delay the revolution that destroys this current civilisation.

    • He sounds like a sociopath.

So your run of the mill lefty proffessor?

Wish I could cite the reference, but it was something to the effect of “if you need ethics classes, you don’t have morals.”

      • Watchman

Perversely, I could ask you, “What is the correct solution to the famous Trolley Problem?” if there is no need for ethics classes.

In general you are right – if you need ethics classes in school or university to teach you acceptable morality then it’s already too late for most people to learn. We learn morality from our parents and peers, not from an hour long lecture a week for half a year.

        • Frances

Right, Watchman. We have always tried to bring up our children using Christian morality. Which – in my observation – is really basic morality. If you have to attend an ethics class to figure out what is right or wrong, your parents have been seriously deficient in inculcating the basic virtues in you.

  • Looks like attempted murder.
I hope this guy goes to prison.
Then he can tell his black prison mates how much he likes black people.
