Lawrence Solomon: Why overthrowing Assad won’t solve Syria’s crisis

Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad is a tyrant who “gasses his own people,” Reuters reported this week, expressing a revulsion echoed countless times in the wake of the latest chemical attack in Syria on innocent women and children.

This Western viewpoint is fundamentally confused, explaining why the West is unable to understand the tragedy of Syria, and to end it.

In other words, multiculturalism doesn’t work in Syria, just like it doesn’t work anywhere else.

If you willing to poison gas your own people until they agree to “coexist” then it can work, for a period.
Only blood-thirsty tyrants can keep a proper lid of multicultural societies, which now that I think about it, might just be the true end-game of the left all along.
Healthy monocultures are very hard to subdue, add some multicultural conflict and you have the perfect long-term distraction.
Wow, that’s quite the revelation, now that I think about it.

Globalism is just another word for totalitarianism. There are a couple of main competitors hoping to run the show.

The region of Jihadistan is full of replacement @holes. Millions of them, in fact.

My favorite part of this conflict is all sides saying their opponent is controlled by the Jews.
Actually, if the Jews WERE running Syria, they place would certainly have a better standard of living.

Syria is a clusterf**k as is Libya, Tunisia, Lebanon, Iraq and many other countries not much better in the ME. The U.S. and Canada should not get stuck in their sand dunes. Let the EU and UN both with strong ties or economic interests in Iran, Saudi and the Gulf states sort it all out.

Se should arm all sides with chemical weapons and let nature take its course.

  • There are no easy answers in countries like these. On the one hand, one has a secularist tyrant. On the other, chaos and lots of killing.

Nobody thinks that getting rid of Assad will save Syria, not even Trump but what’s fun is pissing off the Russians when you’re claiming to be attempting to do just that. LOL
