Prominent Editor Mocked For Saying ‘Tomahawk Missiles’ Are Offensive to Native Americans

Mother Jones magazine’s Editor in Chief has accused the “tomahawk” missiles that were fired at Syrian airbase last week of cultural appropriation that “must enrage a lot of Native Americans”.

Clara Jefferey a prominent editor at the liberal magazine tweeted over the weekend that the name “tomahawk” given to missiles is cultural appropriation of Native American culture.

I’m waiting for the Cleveland Indians to change their name to White Guys.

The AGM-114 Hellfire is cultural appropriation. Satanists are the victims.

Ok, rename them “PMS” class missiles.

  • Hard Little Machine

A bunch of people, me included, floated this as a troll. I’m happy someone rose to the bait.

So let me get this straight; First Nations folks are supposed to be proud of inventing stone axes for smashing other First Nations folks’ heads in?
And our recognizing their creative talents is offensive (to them)?!
    Have they complained?

Just to be clear, other ethnic groups were waaay more creative at the bashing thing.

I am pretty sure they were happy to turn in their stone versions for Sheffields finest steel versions.

Ian Campeau from the band–A TRIBE CALLED RED——–
is a Racist. He started this BS about the word ‘tomahawk’.
It has made him a tiny bit famous.

I wonder how the Natives would feel if we eliminated any thing or any word that pertains to their Past. Would this satisfy you ?
    Or –Would it be Racist?

  • Shebel

Not as much, Clara , as the targets.
but–it is good to know that the Indians are OUTRAGED.
Why don’t you rename them Clara ?
Pick some thing Scottish or Irish—-
    We won’t be OUTRAGED.

get them ALL to stop appropriating Bannock Its a Scots invention Mind you most of the HBC factors were young Scotsmen who probably gave out their moms receipe for bannock to boost flour sales. it is not a “first” nation invention.

      • canminuteman

Yep, Bannock is tea biscuit or scone dough cooked on a stick.

        • ntt1

no it is not . that is what you would so if you didnt have a grill or skillet or hot stove. bannock is much heavier than scone dough or tea bisquit it can be eaten or used as a defensive club in close in fighting, I have used it as packing for boulder blasting.

Another loony lefty making a fool of herself.

Tomahawks were actually introduced to the natives by white European settlers. The Indians didn’t have metal before the Europeans came.
