Robots will take your job. Yes you with the university degree. For real. It’s going to happen

WASHINGTON — A wrecking ball is coming for the labour market, analysts warn. As computer-processing power doubles each year and machines learn from their mistakes, sources say the upcoming federal budget will examine the potential of artificial intelligence to disrupt — industries, politics, and entire societies.

It’s been mostly blue-collar workers hit so far, but white-collar jobs are next, a research project at Oxford University concluded in 2013. It said 47 per cent of jobs risk being automated.

Trudeau “we need more people for growth” reality 20yrs from now Canada over populated, majority unemployed. Not joking.

    • mobuyus

Ya but muslims don’t want to work anyways.

      • tom_billesley

The growth is in the public sector that caters for muslims.

Murderous nepotism flip flop fights and flies. This is the future trudeau wants for Canada?

In the next decade a Fortune 500 CEO will be replaced with an AI.

In many cases, intellectual workers, like finance types, are easier and cheaper to replace, because it may take only an effective program rather than a more expensive robot.

    • tom_billesley

I’d vote for an effective program.

      • Tooth&Claw

And there is the rub. You have to have effective programmers.

The first government computer put 64,000 clerks out of work.

  • I have no objection if robots take over the jobs of white-collar Government bureaucrats — probably the only place complete roboticization makes sense. Civil servants are never in contact with real people anyways. But above all it would stop the politicization of civil servants: robots can be programmed to only follow the rules — illicitly using their unelected position as partisan lobbyists would be eliminated.

Eh, Kraftwerk was singing about this stuff back in 1978:

I think those goonions and their “Fight for 15” idiocy must own a lot of shares in robot and kiosk making companies. They sure do not care about how many “fast-food” jobs will no longer be available for teenagers

  • The__Hammer

Not me, I make the robots 😀
