Chuck Berry, Key Pioneer of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Dies at 90

Singer-songwriter-guitarist Chuck Berry, the rock ‘n’ roll pioneer who established the form and the themes of the music with his slyly funny, rhythmically propulsive ’50s hits, such as “Maybellene,” “Roll Over Beethoven” and “Johnny B. Goode,” has died. He was 90.

My favorite Chuck song……and it was the background singer that makes it for me.

    Miss him already.

Helluvva guy to choose to muck about with, money-wise, or other wise. He used to travel pretty light, using only local musicians for backup. And, if you were the promoter, you paid for his services up-front, Slick.
Did anyone else watch that film with Keith Richards? Jeez.

Good thing Richards was still a young man when Berry clocked him for his trouble. If it had happened these days, who knows how poor old Keef would’ve fared?

read Barry would steal amps , guitars of other performers in lieu of being robbed by record companies

In honor of this giant of pop music, we must sing our alma mater.
