New Poll Shows Emerging Trump Phenomenon in Canada

An emerging Trump Phenomenon in Canada? What could possibly have caused that?

A new CROP poll released Monday indicates growing support for a “Trump-style” populist candidate in Canadian politics as well as a growing suspicion of Muslim immigrants.

The internet poll surveyed 2,513 people across Canada, including 1,024 Quebecers, and was conducted over four days in January, including the day of the infamous Quebec City Mosque shooting.

The good news for Conservative Party of Canada leadership candidate Kellie Leitch and her “Canadian values” campaign: three-quarters of those polled are in favor of vetting new immigrants with a Canadian values test to determine their ideology on basic equality issues.

Sometimes, not often, but sometimes good can emerge from bad (or evil as the case may be).

In other words, the best thing about Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party regime at present is that Canadians are now waking up, realizing the level of corruption and rot in Ottawa that pervades our federal government. Canadians are waking up to the fact that a hard left puppet “leads” Canada.

Yes to Trump and a Trump-style and Trump-substance political leader in Canada! It’s long overdue.

    • Felix_Culpa

I hope they are waking up, anyway. But after so many years of indoctrination and propaganda that the liberal progressive way is the correct and proper approach, I don’t really have too much hope that people will wake up to anything more than economic self-interest, and that is not enough to stem the loss of civilization. In fact, one can argue that it accelerates the decline. We had, and relatively recently too, a real (even if imperfect) understanding of Canadian society that included some concern for the real common good that included some autonomy for neighbourhoods, free associations of like-minded folks, and of the family. Especially of the family. But now, all these intermediate bodies are seen as illegitimate, and Holy Mother State wants to control all….

Canada’s election was a couple of years too early, which put the country out of synch with the rest of the world.

    • LairdKintyre

We got complacent with Harper as Leader. We took him for granted. Things would’ve been far worse for Canada after the crash without him.

      • Oracle9

We had a pretty good country up to 2015.

I will never forgive the CBC for the character assassination and manipulation of the Canadian steeple against Harper.

Present conditions are not a great monument to the intelligence of the average Canadian either.

The Yanks have a man leader to take them out of the wilderness….Canadians have a lisping pot smoking moron who believes in more debt to make things nicer…

THEY have a leader who loves his country as it was constituted….WE have a globalist enviro crank who wants to turn us into Sweden….

Both countries have corrupt lackey media who actively work to suborn the people’s will.

Meanwhile the media thinks its great that the government has used taxpayer money to buy 600 tickets for invited members of the Canadian elites, to sit with the feminist prime minister at the Broadway play tonight. And the Wynne Liberal government has new Canada Birthday tv ads out, showing lots of women with bags over their heads. Because when you think about celebrating Canada’s birthday, you think Islam.

    • That sound you hear is the Fathers of Confederation spinning in their graves.

  • Drunk_by_Noon

Trump has shown us the way out of the wilderness.
This is a monumental time to be alive.

  • Alain

Time to correct the lie. Populism elected Trudeau not Trump. Nationalism (national pride elected Trump. May we also get a nationalist leader and party who loves Canada and puts the country and Canadians first.

    • dance…dancetotheradio

      Good thesis.
Trudeau is an accident of history.

      • Maggat

I’d say, an accident somewhere else.

        • dance…dancetotheradio

Someone should have told Maggie that her mouth couldn’t get pregnant.

  • LairdKintyre

I’m a Conservative Party member and I’m voting for Kellie Leitch. Memberships are only 15 dollars and guarantee you a vote for the leadership race. I invite everyone to go for it. Let’s get Kellie for PM.

    • Maggat

I’m with you on this, all the way.

    • canminuteman

As much as I like Leitch’s politics, I think if she wins the leadership the next prime minister will be from the NDP.

      • Maggat

Go stand in the corner and repeat after me——–

      • LairdKintyre

Seriously? Have you seen the contenders for the federal NDP Leadership? They are so far to the Left they make Bernie Saunders look like a dour old Puritan. Personally I hope Nikki Ashton takes it. She is a genuine eco-feminist nutcase. Totally certifiable. It’ll turn the election into a coronation for Kellie Leitch with that completion. Especially after Canada will have been suffering under Trudeau’s Progressivism for 4 years by that time.

        • canminuteman

Canadian elections have all the political gravitas of the election of a high school class president. This is why we ended up with prime minister Zoolander. Most voters vote for image, not platform. I suspect that Trudeau will be PM until he gets fat and goes bald. In Ontario we have had a Liberal government for 14 years. It has been a disaster from day one. If the Liberals get a new leader they would likely win again, and the opposition is trying to get into power by out Liberal the Liberals. Face facts, we are screwed and there is no way out of it. Even if we elected a premier who had the guts to do what needs to be done to salvage this province, it would be so harsh the people wouldn’t stand for it for more than one term, then the leftists will get back into power to put us back on the highway to hell.

Best prepare yourself and your family for life in the third world, because that it what Canada is going to be like in ten or twenty years and I fear it is impossible to fix.

      I’m for Bernier.
If she wins, I’ll vote for her.

      • Maggat

I’m vice versa on that but either result would work.

    • LairdKintyre

We are truly witnessing a global ( western world ) phenomenon. I am so proud to be a part of it. I did everything I could in my own small way to spread the good word of Donald Trump on social media. I joined the Conservative Party to be able to vote for Kellie Leitch as Leader. Let’s keep this movement going folks to 2019 and Ottawa.

Crikey, I swam upstream as a Canadian talking to my friends at work.
I told them that I wanted him to win and the reasons why.
I wasn’t convinced that he would win.
That’s why they play the football games.
To see who is going to win.
But, they all hated him and we got into many arguments about everything.
I won, and I didn’t say a fucking word to them about it.
And neither did they say a word to me, either.
That’s fine, I still love those guys.
