Dennis Prager on Jews who love their enemies

At Townhall:

How is one to explain the widespread American Jewish support for bringing in a massive number of people, many of whom will bring in anti-Jew, anti-Israel and anti-West values?

Go on, Dennis. I am looking for a reasonable explanation.

First, they are staggeringly naive believing, for example, that marching at airports with signs that read “We love Muslims” will change those Muslims who hate Jews into Muslims who love Jews.

When people hate and despise us, and we suck up to them, we merely confirm for them that what they believe about us is true. How did the airport marchers manage to miss that?

Second, never underestimate the power of feeling good about yourself that exists on the left (the self-esteem movement originated on the left). And it feels very good for these Jews to say: “Look, world. You abandoned us in the 1930s, but we’re better than you.”

Ah. We are getting much closer now. Many people will die for virtue. Too bad that reintroducing virulent anti-Semitism via Middle Eastern Muslims is the virtue they chose. But perhaps their families will not mind the sacrifice. I would but I don’t speak for them.

And third, when American Jews abandoned traditional liberal and traditional Jewish values for leftist values, they became less Jewish, less American and more foolish. More.

Perhaps some of them have become people for whom even wanting to survive is optional, a luxury, a source of guilt? At least they chose it. No one forced it on them.

Reality check: The traditional Irish North American approach has been to just beat the oppressor up and then, nursing his wounds, explain that we would rather not have it come to this any more.
