Muslim headscarves in Europe: The battle heats up

Some political leaders in Europe view the traditional veils worn by those of the Islamic faith as a threat to national identity, a barrier to communication, or even a safety concern.

Already several countries have laws or proposals in place that ban the veils in some fashion.

Why do they need infidel glasses, when they have allah to lead them?

That’s how cultural appropriation works. Angry black and latina women can bitch about white women appropriating dreads and hoop earrings but do it on their white male created Twitter and Facebook via iPhones. Because reasons . . .

If they put their eyes inside the bag and stayed in thier houses, they wouldn’t need glasses

      • It would be a lot easier to break up the Islamic cult if the cultist were not allowed to wear cult clothes.

    You have generalized cancer, here’s a band-aid.

Eurabia, Eurabia! Ah well, old habits die hard.

As for these burka “babes”, I’ve seen a few around Yonge and Dundas and occasionally in the GTA outside of Toronto proper. It never fails to momentarily frighten me (and my wife when we’ve been together).

Trudeau is a colossal idiot to support the burka and niqab. Bloody fool!

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the left’s infatuation with islam. There’s the cultural and religious relativism angle, where equating all cultures and faiths reduces Western Judeo-Christian dogma to just another set of ideas making it more easily dismissible by some of our “protected classes” like Big Gay and Big Trans. There’s the demographic angle, where politicians need votes and taxes to support the welfare state. They’ve got the votes alright but I think immigration is more of a drain on resources than a plus. There’s the pathological altruism angle where it’s better to invite in your executioner than be called a racist or bigot but that one needs a fuckton of stupid to be viable, although I don’t discount it entirely. And the most recent theory I’ve read is that western feminists, having feminized and pussified western males, now realize the error of this ideology and rather than admit this error, prefer importing hordes of dominant males to once again be controlled and told what to do by strong men.

Any insights you may have would be no doubt interesting.

        • I assume it’s mainly down to shared hatred of Western civilization.

Or the forces of postmodernism and cultural relativism and secularism combined with declining standards in society generally and especially in education have formed a noxious brew from which we all may never recover.

Hence the ease the Muslims invade our psyches and nations.

        • Etobicoke_Gladiator

All reasonable points, although I’m hesitant to “endorse” your view re: feminism since I don’t think it would stand up to scrutiny. Also, I believe you may be underestimating the hatred of Harper and Conservatives more generally in Canada, and that Trudeau and his administration are still obsessed with fighting Harper and his policies although he’s retired and not returning to Canadian politics.

However, the Muslim immigration issue has been around a lot longer than Trudeau, of course, and Canada like Europe and increasingly large segments of the American population, is profoundly naive about the dangers of importing large numbers of Muslims.

I hadn’t seen the possibility of the kneejerk anti Harper reaction, if he did X, I’ll do Y but it does strike me as something a shallow, low information, virtue signaling politician would do. Thanks.

          • Etobicoke_Gladiator

Sadly, I believe this simple explanation does (partially) explain Trudeau’s infatuation with Islam generally, the niqab and hijab and refugees and Sanctuary Cities and campaigning in every mosque and making his appearance after the “tragedy” of the Peterborough Mosque fire and of downplaying the Toronto 18 and the incident in Parliament, etc. etc. etc.

A virtue signaling idiot hardly begins to describe the shallow, low info, Trudeau, but ok. For what it’s worth, I’ll stand by this simplistic analysis.

And let us all bow our heads and say “Aga Khan”. *sigh*

“You can’t fix Stupid” is a truism with which we are all familiar. That truism has a military corollary that enters into play when issues of cultural survival are on the table. It goes like this: “But Stupid needs to be euthanized by the thousands when circumstances demand it. Because Stupid is simply not worth dying for.”

Burqas are a handy disguise for criminals and jihadists around the world, as Daniel Pipes has documented in his updated list, begun in 2002.
