In June 2016, Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority, addressed the European Parliament in a speech, which drew on old anti-Semitic blood libels, such as falsely accusing Israeli rabbis of calling on the Israeli government to poison the water used by Palestinian Arabs. Such a clearly incendiary and anti-Semitic speech was not only allowed in parliament by the sensitive and “anti-racist” parliamentarians; it received a standing ovation.

The concept of selective free speech immunity is certainly a popular one among slimy red fascist vote whores in the eu. These are mostly people who wouldn’t have the courage to say boo to a goose if standing up by themselves to do it was in the cards.

Removing immunity is something that might be helpful at times if it was on or off for every one of them only as an action affecting all of them. It would

The funny thing is someone is quoted as saying “that EU lawmakers must be able to express their views about how Europe should work”. But the EU parliament has absolutely no power to propose or pass legislation – so restricting their right to speak freely in the EU parliament is irrelevant to the *actual* lawmakers being able to speak freely (these are unelected bureaucrats who make the laws in behind doors closed meetings – presumably they will still allow themselves the right to speak freely.)

The EU is a joke. No, make that a nightmare.

If history is any indication, no one will stop it until the only way to stop it is by war. Sad, but true.
