He just feels excluded from German society.

Nothing to fear, folks. Justin is busy on the phone with Merkel as I type this to invite this poor dear to Montreal or Toronto.

  • We’re seeing reports from the German police that there were several attackers and some may be on the run. Of course we’ve heard that before in the confusion after an attack so it may not be accurate.

      That’s Islamophobic!

Yes, likely one of those unaccompanied minors.

I’ll take all bet double or nothing I already know his religious affiliation. Even a progressive reading this knows in some corner of his mind whether he admits it or not

Being described as a “mentally-ill Yugoslavian”. Maybe I’m a bit out of date but I thought Yugoslavia went the way of the dodo a couple of decades ago.

I think we can chalk this one up on the board.

    • tom_billesley

Yugoslavia started breaking up in 1991 but the name persisted until 2003 when Montenegro split from Serbia. Perhaps he arrived in Germany with a passport with “Yugoslavia” on the cover.

    • Solo712

Well, the likelihood is that the guy is a Bosnian or Kosovar Muslim. The other concentration of Muslims in former Yugoslavia is in Sandjak, a region in Serbia. But if the German authorities say “former Yugoslavia”, the man it is not likely from Serbia.

  • LairdKintyre

Lots of Muslims in what used to be Yugoslavia.

    • Alain

      Thanks to the West.

This is not only sad but criminal. I was in Germany several times about 20 years after the end of WW II, and it really was a nice place. It was much cleaner than France, very orderly and the people on the whole much more polite than the French. I left the last time with a very positive impression, but that has totally changed for the worst.
