Kudos to Trump for Ignoring McMaster’s Advice Against Using Term ‘Radical Islamic Terrorism’

Despite his impeccable military and other credentials, US President Donald Trump’s national security adviser, Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, began his job — the one he got as a result of the resignation of Gen. Michael Flynn — with a whimper. If reports are correct, McMaster told Trump last week that he should cease using the term “radical Islamic terrorism,” so as not to alienate Muslim-majority countries allied with the United States.

The departure of Flynn was a loss, but replacing him with McMasters was a big mistake. He belongs to the “nothing to do with Islam” crowd which is composed of both Democrats and establishment Republicans, including Bush. It is like appointing the fox to be in charge of the henhouse.

McMasters is a bit too cautious for my tastes.

    • I’m beginning to believe the “Flynn scandal” was orchestrated by the Dems, and Reps like McCain. Been watching a Bush interview on Hannity…

Maybe, but I suspect that Trump got rid of him, probably because he wasn’t managing his department transition well.

Naturally, McMaster’s line on radical Islam is troubling as it is a rehash of the discredited liberal gobbledygook according to which if you step up to the plate and start calling a spade a spade, you are playing into the hands of extremists in fomenting civilizational conflict. The Clintonite Deep State bleats day in and day that this is what ISIS wants, and needs for its recruitment. In other words, in order for ISIS to go away and lose its appeal, do whatever the political Islamists tell you and then we are going to be ok. Do not say “islamic terrorism”; do not criticize sharia; do not draw pictures of Mohammed; provide praying breaks for Muslim employees; and stop serving food in day hours during Ramadan. ISIS will lose its appeal and disappear, the terror will cease, and we will all be happily living multi-culti ever after. I admit I sometimes have trouble believing that people can be as stupid as to fall for that. Especially the elite….no, these people do it either because they are in sympathy with the aims of political Islam and want to destroy the cultural identity of the West or they are prostitutes who do it for money. I can’t think of a third way.

McMasters is echoing the party line that has been gospel in the military for 16 years. Trump has put him in his place; let’s see if he gets the picture. If he doesn’t Trump will give him the ole’ “you’re fired!”, but in the subtle way he pushed out his predecessor (IMO) to avoid the appearance of disharmony etc.

Alienate a poisonous snake like Saudi Arabia that funds worldwide Wahhabi fanaticism, including from Mosques at home which should all be shut because they spit this sedition 24/7?

    • Will Quest

never apologize to the enemy it will get you a kick to the groin ……. that’s a slippery slope and one the progressive know very well ….. if they demand an apology , do like the pussy brigade who simply double down on their righteous hatreds ……

Any Muslim, or Muslim country, that objects to the term “radical Islamic terrorism” must prima facie be at least a sympathiser.

    • Norman_In_New_York

Those countries that fit the description of the phrase are already hostile. The other Muslim countries would agree with Trump.

    • WalterBannon

      its not “radical Islamic terrorism”

      its “regular everyday Islamic terrorism”

  • WalterBannon

screw muslim countries, they only thing they should hear from us is the sound a nuke missile makes just before it hits them

  • He should not say “radical Islamic terrorism” – he should say, even more frankly, “Islamic terrorism”.
