The backlash to political correctness was inevitable

Several times this week I’ve been warned by supporters of M-103, the anti-Islamophobia motion being debated in Parliament, that if the motion fails even more Muslim youth will become radicalized. They will feel discriminated against in Canada and more likely to fall victim to the hateful propaganda of ISIS or other radical Muslims.

Frankly, if the failure of a House of Commons motion is enough to push someone over to the jihadis’ side, they were headed in that direction anyway.

If they are that risky, why do we keep importing them?

We (Canadians) should be so lucky as to have a “demagogue” to vote for.

“It is that disconnect between what is acceptable and what is really happening that drives fed-up voters into the arms of demagoguing politicians.”

Is the narcissistic Mr. O’Leary one of Mr. nGunter’s feared demagogues? Or is he just a pathetic opportunist trying to wriggle into Conservative duds? At this point, I think that laid-back Canadians can sniff out a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Is the uber-sensible Dr. Leitch a demagogue? Oh, that she were! The media is using it’s well-worn playbook to destroy her chances of ascending to the Conservative leadership. It uses cliched terms such as “dog whistle politics” when her call to common sense (remember how they threw Mike Harris on the trash heap when he dared to appeal to common sense?) when her polite appeals could better be compared to the almost silent opening of a can of cat food that has your feline racing to its food bowl.

And the weasel-faced Mr. Brown-nose? Hardly the stuff that demagogues are made of. Not our kind of people, my fellow sheeples.

Nothing else matters if the candidate is not from Quebec.
      Just saying.
Kellie is the closest to being a candidate that would try do the right thing, but the media has, like you point out, already dug her grave. Plus, she’s not from Quebec AND shady.

        I agree whole heartedly.

        • Cat-astrophe

The sad thing is I like Kellie, but when I watch her she reminds me of Robert Stanfield. Intelligent, capable…..
We all know who beat him. Flashy demeanour, gets into peoples hearts, not heads….

          • Shebel

That Robert Stanfield guy was Way Before my time.

  • reidjr

I have heard the other side of this Is bill 103 would make it possible for Isis to set camps up in Canada as we would not be allowed to say anything about them.

  • Gary

So sad for muslims that they didn’t get sharia in 2005.

When I grow up to retirement I am going to name myself Bat Manuel the Crusader.

Let them. It’s a free market. Let the pustule grow to the point that it has to be lanced once and for all. Innocent people will probably be hurt unfortunately but it’s not me doing the damage. Stop the charade, drop the cloak and let the chips fall where they may. Anybody who walks the Danforth’s East End on a Friday night knows exactly what we have in store for us.

  • lzzrd

Just an idle question, to stir the pot. Since I am not from/in Canada and I say/post something “they” do not like, will “they” ; 1) deny me entry into Canada, or, 2) allow me in, then put me in jail for a hate crime. Just asking……

    • Probably not, but if it’s bad enough they might go after BCF. My understanding is that they can hold him legally responsible for comments they don’t like.

    • That’s why I’m such a bitch when people say really appalling and outrageous things; not because I have any deep love of censorship, but because I suspect that the people calling for violence and other nasty things would not be quite so brave when it came to picking up swingeing legal bills.

      • Shebel

This why we all have illegal guns.
        Fuck the Lawyers.

    • lzzrd

Another ?…Do they have “ex post facto” laws up north, or are they prohibited, as they are here down south? Anyway, I will continue to be “nice”, since this is the first place I go to in the A.M with my 1st cup of coffee and don’t want to jam up BCF….
      P.S. “probably not”….now that got my attention….LOL……..

Ah, the old “we’re struggling to keep the youth in check” bullshit.
