Why Social-Justice Warriors Think It’s Okay to Be Racist Towards Asians

Come on. Did you really think you’d be accepted? Every word on your banner is spelled correctly.

Asian Americans deal with prejudice, but the dogmas of social justice maintain that they are racially privileged.

It happens all too often to Americans of Asian ancestry. They are walking home on a crowded street, and someone bumps into them and shouts, “Go back to China!” When it happened last year to Michael Luo, a New York Times journalist, he started the hashtag #ThisIs2016, and Asian-Americans shared their stories.

It happened to Jeff Sessions’s granddaughter at his confirmation hearing on January 10. When MTV News writer Ira Madison III saw an Asian-American girl, the child of John Walk and Ruth Sessions Walk, sitting in her grandfather’s lap, his first thought was to write, “Sessions, sir, kindly return this Asian baby to the Toys ‘R’ Us you stole her from.” This is 2017, and yet MTV News writers are dehumanizing Asian Americans and playing into common racist tropes.

“Socially privileged” is anyone who works hard, pays taxes and is not a criminal.

There is also, I suspect, a resentment of Asians due to the intelligence thing, which other minorities might use to disqualify Asians as a “genuine” minority.

      • Education is actively discouraged among a large segment of the black community, even middle and upper class black kids don’t escape this “shaming” for submitting to “the man”.

“Education is actively discouraged among a large segment of the black community”

This was fairly common among Caucasian Canadian students in public and high school when I went. You were picked on if your marks were too high or too low. School athletes and very good looking girls seemed the only ones who avoided it.

Because I have been married to one for over 35 years, I know that beautiful Asian women have to put up with a ridiculous amount of bullshit from a large segment of the male population. The bullshit varies in flavour, depending on the ethnicity/race of the bullshit source. Much of the bullshit has a racist tinge, sometimes subtle, sometimes not so subtle. It can also be threatening (Muslims, some blacks).

I didn’t laugh when she took up MMA after her 40th birthday. I knew she was sick and tired of the bullshit. And there had been an incident while she was on a business trip to Atlanta. Long story short, I picked her up once and discovered that hot Asian females made up HALF HER CLASS. The penny dropped.

I think Asians hate us just as much as everyone else does, but because they don’t beat us up and rob us on the streets it’s not as obvious.

That cuts both ways. Mother-in-law – great woman – always referred to her Chinese godson as #4 son, and he was always “Uncle” to our children. My explanation in the early days was to the effect of “your Granny always called Uncle ….. her No 4 son, but the family resemblance isn’t very great”. No 4 son is still a treasured part of our family, and we are fortunate he chose to become part of our family.

On the other hand, where there was a furor at our offsprings’ school because one teacher declined to hand out “A’s” to all and sundry, I was summarily told by a Chinese mother that it was okay for other children to receive less than an A, but not for Chinese children. The implication was obviously that the Chinese cohert in that class was brighter than the generic Canadians attending same, and that said brightness should have been properly recognized by the Caucasian teacher.

I know where my offspring from that class has ended up, and am very proud of the accomplishments. I do wonder how well the children of the Chinese parents have done.

    • A college instructor told me of the bribes offered by Asian parents to improve their kids grade.

    • Asian kids work hard and much is expected of them. It might sound that Asian mothers think little of other kids but, really, they are lighting a fire under their kids.

      • Frances

You may be right, but that is not the message I received, loud and clear. And, as I mentioned, I would like to know just how well those Chinese children have done – some 20 years down the line – as compared with my child who was dismissed by that Chinese mother as being obviously inferior.

        • Twenty years down the road, they are stressed-out salary-men.

I wonder how Asians in the UK felt when the Rotherham rape of 1400 young white girls by Muslim gangs finally blew it’s lid after a decade, and the MSM reported it as “Asian Gangs?”

    • Uncommunist

      They resented it.

      • bargogx1

As well they should. I just wish they’d been more vocal about it.

        • Uncommunist

The msm ignores the racism directed towards Asians, particularly the overt vicious racism of other minorities and the msm’s own racism.

    • bargogx1

I always thought that was a rather despicable thing to do, and indicative of a certain sort of racism.

  • I am saying this now: if you’ve been in cram schools since you were seven years old, there is no reason why you should be naive and/or stupid. Leftists need race, class and sex as pegs in which to put people because they cannot imagine a world without tribes. Yes, they might claim identities are irrelevant or “fluid” but, really, they don’t believe it. If any person of Asian descent truly believes that leftists will be concerned with their social or economic concerns, he or she is is fooling him or herself.
