Bay Area restaurants register as sanctuary businesses

President Donald Trump’s hard-line stance on the issue has sparked the Sanctuary Restaurants Movement, which launched in early January and now counts more than 240 restaurants across the country. The Bay Area is home to about two dozen participating restaurants, including Alfred’s Steakhouse in San Francisco, Cancun Sabor Mexicano in Berkeley and Flea Street in Menlo Park.

Certainly the health department will keep you safe from various and sundry infections right?

The restaurants have also declared themselves sanctuaries for cockroaches, rats and salmonella.

Many high-end restaurants in San Francisco have been de-facto *sanctuary* restaurants for a couple of decades now.

There are also *sanctuary* clothes factories and *sanctuary* food factories.

There are *sanctuary* lettuce fields, tomato fields and vineyards, as well. In fact, America’s entire economic landscape is just chock-full of*sanctuary* businesses.

Still no sign of *sanctuary* prices, though.

By ‘sanctuary prices’, do you mean savings passed on to customers? If you’re referring to the sub-par salaries paid to illegal workers, the better term would be ‘sanctuary wages.’

Although a good starting point to direct ICE as to where to go to go check employment and immigration status of employees.

  • Jaedo Drax

Hrmmm, maybe someone can point out to BLM that these restaurants are employing people who are without status, reducing opportunities for African Americans, contributing to their higher unemployment rates.

    • Editor

You’re working under the assumption BLM actually gives a shit about employment opportunities for African Americans. I’m not yet convinced of that.

If these restaurants are paying their help off the books, they are open to criminal tax evasion charges.

Whites “and” blacks need not apply.

Good, now the IRS can get their hands in to this because they are now aiding in harbouring illegals to pay them while they don’t pay Income Tax.
It’s a big lie that they pay taxes. Most get paid in CASH and aren’t covered by labour laws because they can’t go to Court which will expose them as an illegal.
What’s next …..a drug dealer calling the Police because his home was broken into and 5 lbs of cocaine was stolen .
