Austrian Defence Minister Hans-Peter Doskozil (SPÖ), told Die Welt: “We do not believe that the EU’s external borders are adequately protected so far by the EU. That is why Austria, together with 15 other countries along the Balkan route and the Visegrád states, is planning a close cooperation in the framework of a new Balkan frontier defence project.
“If there is a mass influx of migrants, the states involved in the border protection initiative want to be able to act quickly. In the event of a crisis, we will work towards a common situation using clearly defined contacts and a regular exchange of information between the police and military heads of the countries involved.”

Berkeley students condone violent reactions to ‘hate speech’
The University of California, Berkeley’s student newspaper published a series of op-eds Tuesday defending the violent rioting that shut down a Milo Yiannopoulos event last week.
The Daily Californian, which operates independently of the university but is at least partially funded through student fees, posted a series of columns on “Violence as self-defense” that outlines five “arguments in favor of the use of violence in protests” written by current and former students.
The first op-ed in the series, Check your privilege when speaking of protests, charges that protesters who are not on board with violent tactics are “cowards” and that white nationalists deserve to get “their asses beat.”
