Esteban Santiago was investigated for child-porn – no wonder he had an affinity for ISIS

The suspected gunman who authorities believe shot dead five people and injured six after opening fire in Fort Lauderdale International airport had gone AWOL several times while serving in the military and was investigated for child pornography, authorities have said.

Esteban Santiago, a 26-year-old Iraq war veteran, was taken into custody and was pictured in handcuffs Saturday as police led him to the Broward County Main Jail, where he is held on suspicion of murder. Police believe he flew out of Anchorage, Alaska on a 9:52 pm Delta flight and checked his gun during the flight. Santiago loaded his gun in the airport bathroom before silently and indiscriminately shooting victims in the baggage claim area in Terminal 2 on Friday about 1 pm, officials said.

Probably upset that he couldn’t get a job with the Wynne government.

    • Wynne just didn’t have time to read his resume.

The jihadi of the week club has its newest hero in Esteban Santiago. He primed his nutbar defense by going to the FBI and talking about nutbar stuff that would provide nutbar cover for what he almost certainly had planned to do or was directed to do in a calculated pre-meditated fashion. While Esteban Santiago will be shown wearing a kufiyah, which was the murderous Arafat’s symbol, and flashing the ISIL one finger salute, the MSM will be jumping through hoops to attribute the cowardly pre-meditated crimes of this terrorist to mental illness and labelling anyone who says it was islamic terrorism an islamophobe. Reminds me of the phone call Hal of Breaking Bad made to his wife when he knew the DEA would be listening where he set up her defense of ignorance and fear of bodily harm. Honest people will not fall for it, Democrats will.

excellent points …. I like to call the kufiyah an Ara-fagi scarf….

Just like Naser Jason Abdo, who was stopped before Ft. Hood 2. Gotta laugh at the reportage: “SUSPECTED gunman who authorities BELIEVE shot dead five people…???

It could have been a water pistol and everyone just happened to drop dead of a heart attack at the exact moment he pointed it at them. Stress, I suppose.

Being that I don’t watch TV news anymore, how are they spinning this one?

    • Alain

Do you really need to ask? Take three guesses and the first two don’t count.

White hispanic who at one time thought about living in a gated community.

      • Alain

They will likely omit the hispanic bit and just go with white.

I found a website today called gotnews that offers a lot more information than the media ever will.

Jihad Watch has posted an article uncovering what could be the the shooter’s Muslim identity.

No! No! No! CBC at the top of the Google News Aggregator insisted that it’s an easily-explained case of mental illness!

“It could happen to anyone, so nothing to see here, no dots to connect. Move along.” – CBC

    • He was made insane by the BushHitler Terror Nexus!

Note that in the leftist world of Identity Politics, there is no place for the Mentally Ill to be included as a Special Interest Group.

Think about this. What does the Schizophrenia Society of Canada and the psychiatric associations of the country have to think about this glaring fact?

In Canada at least, the mentally ill are at the bottom of the barrel, right beside the Christians and Conservatives.

He stopped shooting and lay down to wait for law enforcement to apprehend him. Were those actions preplanned, or spontaneous ?

    • Exile1981

He ran out of ammo for his gun. I’ve wondered if he thought he would actually live that long or not. He seemed to have no plan for what to do whenthe ammo was gone.

      • moraywatson

There are gaps in the reporting. It is not clear for instance how long it was he was on the ground before he was apprehended. Was security already there, or did he wait ? No shots were apparently fired by security, so it doesn’t seem that they could possibly have been on scene when the killing was going on. The timelines are unclear. He didn’t try to flee, he didn’t take hostages. Did he expect to be shot?

One site is reporting that his one line twitter account asked iSIS a while back if it was permitted to watch Anime. He asked about to specific ones, both of which are super violent and full of T&A.

I was going to have written, “A 26-year-old Iraq War veteran? Oh, ‘…including a deployment to Iraq from 2010 to 2011’ after most U.S. troops had been pulled out and military deaths were very, very low” but I see the MSM is pushing the “Iraq War vet” angle over his tenure there. So the Big Lie is already being sown.
