What explains the idiocy of the liberal elite? It’s their education

Enough! Enough! For months, the so-called liberal elite has been writing articles, having radio and TV discussions, giving sermons (literally) and making speeches in which it has struggled to understand those strange creatures: ordinary people.

The elite is bemused by what drives these people to make perverse decisions about Brexit and Trump. Are they racist, narrow-minded or just stupid? Whatever the reason, ordinary people have frankly been a disappointment.

I guard against this stuff with my kids.

      Scary.

It’s not just their education. It’s the fact that they aren’t that bright to begin with. Any person of reasonable intelligence would see through the crap they are fed at school, and realize that what they are being taught is bogus.

Yes, all through my university years I was exposed to the same, and sadly for a while in my youth bought into a lot of it. I am nothing special but once I started investigating what I had been indoctrinated with I saw how false it was. I agree that there is no excuse for anyone over 30 to continue down this road no matter how much indoctrination they received.

Member when people thought Joe Clark was a conservative?
        I member.

        • Alain

Yes, and his dingbat wife didn’t help things either.

One of my favourite books is Andrew Breitbart’s.
In it, he recounts how he barely got his American Studies degree and realized he was qualified to do sweet fuck all.
The most amazing thing about him is that he realized, like Neo waking up in the true horrific reality of the Matrix, what had been done to him and how he overcame it.
He was one of those guys who brought into conscious thought the things that we couldn’t.
Like when your Spidey Sense is on full what the hell is going on here but you don’t really know how to name what you are smelling in the air.

      I dunno, ‘man.
Prior to getting online in late 2003 I was conservative but steeped in the anti American narrative.
It took years of reading websites like this to shake it.
Still, pulling an Andrew Coyne here, you know, the guy who sees both sides of an issue only to stay on the fence and ultimately have no opinion other than the guy signing his paycheque, you make a valid point.
The truth is out there and in the age of social media they have no excuse for not finding it.

  • Abolish teachers’ unions.

    • Clausewitz

As a teacher and department head I fully endorse this message.

      • How many teachers would remain knowing that there was no union to cover their incompetence?

Only teachers who want to teach and are good at it should be in school.

Furthermore, it’s time to light a fire under the parents and students. A teacher can teach and but he can’t follow a student home and make sure that he’s done his homework.

    • Alain

Agreed and also abolish all public service unions.
