CNN: SPLC Editor Says ‘Drain The Swamp’ Is Racist

While speaking with CNN’s John Berman Tuesday, Lenz said: “Drain the swamp was a meme, a twitter hashtag that grew, exploded really, after Donald Trump came forward with allegations that it was a rigged election, and it was spread specifically, or among the people that were spreading the ‘drain the swamp’ hashtag were avowed racists—white supremacists who exist on Twitter to harass and demean various ethnic groups.”

Germans Watch, Aghast, as Trump’s America Begins to Take Shape

The same questions about Donald Trump keep coming up in Berlin, where I am promoting my recently released critical biography of the American president-elect. Business leaders, journalists from six countries and random people I have engaged ask such strikingly different questions than Americans that I feel like I just escaped from “The Twilight Zone.”

Manitoba Liberals want weight discrimination in human rights code

Some two-dozen people rallied outside the Manitoba legislature to call for human rights protection for overweight people.

The rally was in support of an effort to amend the province’s human rights code to ban discrimination based on physical size and weight.

Lindsey Mazur, a dietitian, says some overweight people are being denied health care, job promotions and other items because of their size.

San Diego State University hosts post-election grief ‘Healing Circle’

San Diego State University on Tuesday hosted a “Healing Circle” to help students process their confusion, anger and fear over Donald Trump’s election and develop ways to stand against “injustice,” according to organizers.

The circle drew roughly 20 participants, a student who attended the session told The College Fix. Students sat at tables facing each other as facilitators talked them through the fact that they needed to come to grips with the election results, similar to the stages of grief.

New non-partisan social network Gab puts people first, promotes free speech

In light of the recent social media censorship blitz on accounts that do not fit in with the mainstream narrative, many are looking for alternatives to the dying social networking platforms that are Facebook and Twitter. They’re looking for a space where they will not be suspended or censored without reason. One such alternative is called Gab. It’s a fairly new social media platform which is still in beta stage but has heaps of awesome features that I think you’re going to love.

An open letter to the City of Toronto and Province of Ontario from Black intellectuals, writers and organizers

On November 17, 2016 the Toronto Police Services Board voted to continue the practice of carding in a revised form. The decision by the TPSB represents a significant impact on the rights of Black, Indigenous, and Brown people, as well as homeless people and other marginalized people in our Toronto community.

Electoral College members ‘prepare to vote against Donald Trump’

A number of Democrats have reportedly agreed to break with tradition and vote against Donald Trump when the Electoral College meets on December 19 in an unlikely attempt to block his presidency.

At least half a dozen Democratic electors are preparing to lobby voters in other states in an attempt to keep the Republican out of the White House but, more significantly, also to undermine the legitimacy of the institution.

This will cause states to pass stringent laws for punishing unfaithful electors; everything the liberals do has the opposite effect of what they intended.

Soaring Consumer Confidence: Are Americans Happy It’s Trump, or Just Happy It’s Over?

On the surface, the message from the University of Michigan’s final reading of consumer sentiment for November is that President-elect Donald Trump will fix what ails the nation — fast.

U Mich will never admit the country is relieved Obama is finally leaving.
