Austrian politician calling for TOTAL BAN on fundamentalist groups handing out the Koran

A TOP politician in Austria is calling for an outright and immediate ban on Islamic fanatics handing out copies of the Koran.

The Interior Minister, Sebastian Kurz, is demanding fundamentalists be stopped from distributing a strict traditionalist version of the Islamic holy book.

Mr Kurz has claimed the law needs to be changed to allow a crackdown on “Salafist campaigns – an expression of political Islam which we can no longer tolerate.”

After years of lawmakers trying to find a legitimate way to shut the group down amid legal and logistical challenges, they were successful earlier this year in banning one group for good.
