Should Canadian journalists assume they’re being secretly watched by police?

Journalists rely on whistleblowers to report wrongdoing, and whistleblowers trust journalists to keep their identities secret to protect their jobs, their families and sometimes even their personal safety. It’s a relationship that’s fundamental to holding those in power to account.

That’s why what happened this week was so remarkable.

Not one but seven Quebec journalists, including some who work for CBC’s French-language service Radio-Canada, learned they have been the subjects of secret surveillance by police in Quebec.

MIGRANT SEGREGATION: German locals demand barrier taller than the Berlin Wall is built

Residents in Munich have been enraged by plans for a migrant shelter for teenagers in their neighbourhood, with seven locals taking local authorities to court over the proposal.

The wall will be built in the Neuperlach district in the south of the city where authorities say it will protect the residents from the migrant inhabitants and, at four meters, will be higher than the Berlin Wall.

But authorities have got cold feet over the barrier, with some officials saying it was larger than they had planned.

Israel bans Muslim call for dawn prayer from 3 mosques in Jerusalem

Israeli authorities reportedly banned the Muslim call to dawn prayer from being made from three mosques in the Jerusalem district town of Abu Dis today, according to local sources.

Lawyer Bassam Bahr, head of a local committee in Abu Dis, told Ma’an that Israeli forces raided the town just before the dawn prayer this morning.

Killer Trump Campaign Ad Could Be the Head Punch That Finishes Off Hillary

Donald Trump’s latest campaign ad is a bullet aimed directly at the heart of the corrupt establishment. The two-minute spot called “Argument for America” is a damning indictment of not only the Clinton crime syndicate but of the corrupt establishment itself.

With excerpts from Trump’s epic speech against the globalist world order set against images of Clinton corruption, Wall Street, the Federal Reserve, George Soros and the European Union the spot makes the necessary linkage to the criminal gang of anti-American interests that have hijacked the country and ties it all together in one big package wrapped with a red, white and blue ribbon.

Media blackout exposes corrupt media

While most of America was transfixed by Game 7 of the World Series, Fox News Channel was doggedly pursuing a new story: The FBI’s probe into pay-for-play schemes at the Clinton Foundation and the State Department has been far more expansive than anyone reported so far and has been going on for more than a year. FBI sources even warned there could be indictments down the road.

Then, The Wall Street Journal broke another new story online, saying, “Secret recordings of a suspect talking about the Clinton Foundation fueled an internal battle between FBI agents who wanted to pursue the case and corruption prosecutors who viewed the statements as worthless hearsay.” Senior officials wanted to tell FBI agents to “stand down” from a Clinton Foundation probe.

That’s two nuclear explosions in one night. What was the reaction from the news media? Crickets.

German Federal Police: Rise in Crime Is Due To Migrants And Left-Wing Violence

The report, whose release was delayed from July, and again in September, was finally published in November. It records a total of 436,387 crimes over the past year – a dramatic 31.6 per cent increase on the year before, reports Die Welt.

The German Federal Police are tasked primarily with the protection of railway stations, airports, and borders. Most of the recorded thefts occurred at either railway stations or on trains with 44,800 cases reported – up 25 per cent from the year before. In total, thefts have risen 11.9 per cent to 57,146 cases.

The report blames much of the crime on organised migrant gangs, many of them originating from the Balkans. The largest increase in crime by far, however, involves migrants and the violation of asylum laws including illegal immigration and people smuggling, with an increase of 151.6 per cent totally 171,477 violations over the past year.

Big Government Using Big Data To Monitor Citizens

A King County letter that ended up in the mailboxes of thousands of pet owners is raising concerns over privacy.

The letter told pet owners to license their pets or face a $250 fine.

It is how authorities knew them to be pet owners that has people alarmed.

Turns out for the last four years, King County has been using data companies to target specific taxpayers, or in this case pet owners. That means every time customers swipe those rewards cards, they’re gathering data.

Buy a can of cat food, swipe your Safeway card to get a few pennies off, and bureaucrats know you have a cat.

ISIS Calls For “Slaughter Of Americans” On Election Day

One day after US intelligence sources warned that Al-Qaeda may be preparing for potential terrorist attacks in New York, Texas and Virginia, on Saturday the Islamic State called for the “slaughter” of U.S. voters on Election Day and demanded that Muslims not participate in the democratic process because “there is no difference between the Republican and Democratic parties in their “policies against Islam and Muslims.”

Ritz Katz, director of terrorist monitoring group SITE Intelligence Group, said Saturday on Twitter that the threats appear in an essay carried by the Islamic State’s Al Hayat media center that declares militants “have come to slaughter you and smash your ballot boxes.”

German Streets Descend into (Migrant) Lawlessness

Violent crime — including rapes, sexual and physical assaults, stabbings, home invasions, robberies, burglaries and drug trafficking — has skyrocketed in Germany since Chancellor Angela Merkel welcomed into the country more than one million mostly male migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Few, if any, of the migrants were vetted before being allowed to enter Germany.

Migrants committed 208,344 crimes in 2015, according to a confidential police report leaked to Bild. This figure represents an 80% increase since 2014 and is equivalent to 570 crimes committed by migrants every day, or 23 crimes each hour, in 2015 alone.

The actual number of migrant crimes is far higher, however: the report, produced by the Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt, BKA), includes only crimes that have been solved (aufgeklärten Straftaten). According to police statistics, on average only around half of all crimes committed in Germany in any given year are solved (Aufklärungsquote). This implies that the actual number of crimes committed by migrants in Germany in 2015 may have exceeded 400,000.

Black Lives Matter Outraged Over ‘Police Task Force’ To Improve Police Training

Governor Nathan Deal announced members of a newly-formed law enforcement task force, which has been put together to improve law enforcement training in the state. However, Black Lives Matter isn’t happy with the Governor’s choices after one of the people who was selected made it clear that All Lives Matter to him.
