Wynne staffer made alleged offer to energy minister: media report

fish-rots-head-downPremier Kathleen Wynne’s former deputy chief of staff is reportedly facing an allegation she made an offer to the now-energy minister that violates a bribery section of the Election Act.

Pat Sorbara was charged Tuesday with two bribery counts under the act and Liberal operative Gerry Lougheed was charged with one count.

The charges stem from allegations the pair offered Andrew Olivier, a would-be candidate in the 2015 byelection in Sudbury, a job or appointment to get him to step aside for the Liberal’s preferred candidate.
