Bus driver Manmeet Alisher dies after being set on fire by passenger in Brisbane

The death of a Brisbane bus driver was caused by a boarding passenger launching an “incendiary device” at him, Queensland’s Police Commissioner Ian Stewart has revealed.

Authorities are still trying to reach the 29-year-old victim’s relatives both in Australia and overseas after he was killed while taking on passengers a bus stop in Moorooka, in Brisbane’s south.

The 48-year-old man arrested over the incident is assisting detectives.

Mr Stewart said there was no evidence that the incident was linked to terrorism or racism.
