Clinton Campaign to Accuse Trump of Collusion with Russia in Email Hacks

In this daffiest of all daffy presidential campaigns, conspiracy theories have been a dime a dozen. The election will be “rigged” or “powerful forces” are working to defeat Trump.

But the Clinton campaign is set to exceed the paranoia of even Donald Trump. In the granddaddy of all conspiracy theories, they are about to accuse Donald Trump of working with Vladimir Putin to hack into Democratic email accounts.

“Now I’m not saying Democrats have unofficial servers or email accounts, but if they did, the Russians would have totally hacked them. But they didn’t steal any sensitive data, because those servers and emails never ever contained any secrets. Because they don’t exist. Also, all these Wikileaked emails are complete fabrications, stolen from non-existent computer systems, and are clear evidence that Trump has colluded with Putin to breach American cyber defenses.”

The Democrats have Trump on the ropes over that sexual harassment thingy. They must be suicidal to put forth the patently and transparently false accusation of Russian collaboration on the Wikileaks dumps, plunging their credibility into the cellar.

    • Most of the Wikileaks stuff is dated — Trump wasn’t even on the political scene yet. And Hillary hadn’t yet announced her candidacy. I think they’ve been sitting on most of this stuff for a long time waiting for a propitious time to release it. Hillary’s in the spotlight now, so what better time?

Plus Assange is being smart about it — he’s releasing some of the stuff after the campaign. Who knows, maybe he has stuff on Trump and is saving the best for last for the “ultimate” political humiliation. But the thing Trump has going for him is his transparency — we’ve known about him being a playboy and womanizer at least since his appearance on Howard Stern a number of years ago.

I wonder about the supposed damage caused by these old tapes and the conveniently timed accusers. The media is apoplectic, but their opinion counts for little. Hillary voters already considered him Literally Hitler (TM), so no change there. Trump’s fans don’t believe it, or don’t care.

The independent middle swing vote, both casual observers and political junkies, have been hearing about what a horrible person he is from Day 1, so more dirt on Trump doesn’t really phase them. It’s just one more item on the scales of weighing which candidate is the lesser of the two evils. That scale is going to be calibrated differently for each individual. I think it’s going to come down to a lot of people picking one or two items that are their personal deal-breakers and voting accordingly, holding their nose for everything else.

Do most Americans want to put an accused sex offender in the White House? I’d guess a nearly unanimous ‘No’. But is that more important to them than, say, deciding the next couple of Supreme Court judges? Quite possibly not. And besides, they already had Bill Clinton in the White House. It’s no longer shocking or unthinkable, it’s just part of the landscape.

IF true, then Trump’s international experience has been wildly successful in comparison to anything HELLery or Lurch managed to fumble their way through in all their years combined ? I get it now; they’re jealous! Trump GOT something, those two GAVE everything!

BTW, the Dems going after the Russians for this shows that the emails are genuine.

[Scroll up the tiny bit to the original comment too. It’s not that long a thread to read all of either.]
