Is War in Syria in America’s Interest?

The calls for U.S. military action against Syrian government forces have become more vociferous in recent weeks, as outrage over the current Russian and Syrian military offensive in rebel-held eastern Aleppo mounts. The calls are not new: critics have been urging President Barack Obama to become more involved in the Syrian civil war since it began in 2011, and have since become louder amid glaring human rights abuses.

why try to impose western values on countries that haven’t gotten beyond tribalism?

  • Shebel

I have no idea why we all are over there.
I think we should all stop picking winners and losers—- and let them finish it,
Why is it even our fucking business?

    • Cat-astrophe

      Pipelines.
Syria said no to a pipeline from Qatar for their gas.

      • Shebel

        So what?

        • Cat-astrophe

You asked what made it “our” business (not mine or yours)
That’s why we destroyed them, a pipeline.

            U B right ..

          • Shebel

Yes . There is stuff that I will never understand .
There are times that I should not use ‘our or we’. but I am going to keep doing it and I try to be selective.
I have Respect and I have Loyalty .

Is it safe to assume that whoever fed you that information has never looked at a map? Qatar doesn’t share a border with Syria, and it would make infinite more sense if they wanted a pipeline, that it goes through saudi arabia to the coast on the red sea, rather than through saudi arabia, kuwait, iraq and then syria to get to Turkey, which only makes sense if the Europeans wanted the gas.

Wouldn’t it be easier for him to draw another red line in the sand?

    • Cat-astrophe

      Yea, on the Mexican border……

Gonna be bad–when our Miltary no longer has any Respect for our Gov’t.

  • canminuteman

By trying to overthrow the Assad government we are actively supporting ISIS. Once again, we are on the wrong side.

    • Shebel

      I don’t know and I don’t fucking care and I can’t understand.
At first I thought when the Russians got into it we were working together.
Obviously not—- It is just another Chess game .
Put forward your Pawn— It is a sacrifice.
