UK: Man, 61, arrested in Kensington on suspicion of terror offence

A man has been arrested on suspicion of a terrorism offence in Kensington.

Scotland Yard said he was arrested by officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command in west London on Monday afternoon.

The man, 61, was arrested at around 4.10pm on suspicion of “possessing an article for a purpose connected with the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism”.

The man remains in custody, arrested under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act, and a search is under way at an address in Kensington.
