Hollywood nervous that Trump is gaining on Hillary

From The Wrap:

Hollywood Democrats are getting nervous about recent polls that show the race between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump tightening.

“I’m freaked out,” David Schneiderman, co-owner and founder of Seismic Productions and prominent Clinton supporter, told TheWrap. “I now post stuff on Facebook every day bugging all my friends to do something. No one wants to wake up to Donald Trump on November 8.”

A Tuesday CNN/ORC poll showing Trump leading Clinton in a head-to-head match for the first time in six weeks caught some of Clinton’s staunchest industry supporters and donors by surprise. It is one of the “big five” polls widely considered the most reliable — though some journalists questioned its methodology. More.

Reality check: The significant question is whether Hollywood is going the way of big legacy media in terms of the importance of its public influence. If Trump were to win despite their massively public freakouts, that would be telling.

But combing the ruins for memorabilia and trinkets wouldn’t be as important a question as what will replace them?

  • Polls are meaningless: first, they aren’t a perfect representation of the public, second people don’t always vote the way they tell pollsters, and third (and most important) the election is not based on popular vote. Right now, most electoral maps show Hillary with 300+ and Trump around 160. 270 is the magic number.

My prediction is that Trump wins the popular vote and Hillary wins the election. A recount will reveal massive fraud – then things get real interesting real fast.

    Ammo up!

    • But… Wargaming the Electoral College

You’ve probably seen the above map already, or ones very much like it, showing Hillary Clinton’s prohibitive lead in the Electoral College. In my previous Wargaming column from four weeks ago, Clinton’s worst-case scenario gave her a squeaker 273-265. And that, I must reiterate, was her worst-case outcome as of just four weeks ago.

But then Donald Trump went to Mexico in what might prove to have been a game-changer. It is already at the very least a direction-changer — if the massive new WaPo/SurveyMonkey poll is to be believed.

“No one wants to wake up to Donald Trump on November 8.”

If he wins, wouldn’t that mean a lot of people want to wake up to Donald Trump? This Hollywood dipshit needs a smarter script writer.

Exactly! At this point, it seems 45% of the population “wants to wake up to Donald Trump on November 8”. But I’m sure none of his N.Y.-L.A. friends do.

Hollywood and TV have the power to more or less make stuff up. Like in the dark comedy Wag the Dog where they made up a FAKE war – entirely fake – with Albania. People know what they know from TV and if you put Martians landing on the White House lawn on TV a-la “War of the Worlds” people will believe it.
