Chinese TV host accuses Canada’s tourism body of pressuring to remove program on First Nations

A high-profile Chinese television personality has accused Canadian tourism promoters of censoring discussion of Canada’s indigenous issues days before the first official visit to China by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Justin really loves China’s folkways…

While anyone one who wants to avoid stepping on toes in China avoids getting excessively interested in the subject, there are ancient “First Nations” scattered throughout China just as in Canada. They tend to be found mostly in remote mountain areas now for some unknown reason. Perhaps GLLKDW with a bit of local researching could do her hoary shtick “I am addressing you etc” on occasion during her trip.

I’ve visited some remote and very poor areas of China where almost no-one speaks Mandarin and ethnically and genetically are totally different from the majority Han Chinese. If they felt safe enough to honestly say what they thought of the Chinese government, I doubt it would be very positive.

how big of an ass will he make of us?

how much poverty and destruction will be in any deals?

Little Justin is spending three weeks there. That should give the commies lots of time to give him orders on what Canada must give to them. After all, the global corporations insist on better relations between the two countries.

The Chinese government loves to promote to idea to its (unfortunately) gullible masses that Canada’s aboriginals all live in horrific poverty and under brutal political oppression; it’s a convenient way of deflecting negative attention from its own treatment of ethnic minorities. Of course they do the same with the U.S. I’ve lived and worked in China and the sheer ignorance there about other countries is mind-boggling.
