UK: Five men are arrested on terror charges in the West Midlands

The army bomb squad was today called in to an address in Birmingham city centre as counter terrorism police made five arrests in the West Midlands.

Two of the men, aged 32 and 37, were arrested in the Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, while another two men, aged 18 and 24, were detained in their Birmingham homes.

Police said another 28-year-old man was arrested at another location in Birmingham.

The five men are all being held by counter terrorism detectives in the West Midlands on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
