Jihadists aren’t misunderstood punks

Here’s a crazy idea: Maybe, just maybe, jihadists know full well what they’re doing, have thought it through and are deeply committed to it. Could becoming a terrorist be, oh I don’t know, an actual choice? Rather than some sort of temporary sickness that mysteriously overcomes them one day as they’re surfing the web?

For decades, anyone with a dose of common sense has been laughing at the idea that criminals are just misunderstood victims in need of a good cry. So it’s a touch tragi-comic to watch the Liberals pretend “counter-radicalization” will be a successful tool in combating Islamist extremism.
