Hundreds of migrants resisting deportation from Germany at the last minute

Escorted by two officers, a migrant boards a plane. They are about to be deported back to their home country. But minutes before take off, they refuse to travel. Perhaps they begin to shout, refuse to fasten their seatbelt, tell the pilot that they’re not traveling of their own free will.

Such was the case in more than 330 deportations that were abandoned between January 2015 and June 2016, interior ministry figures have shown. In total, more than 600 deportations from Germany by plane were abandoned.

If they won’t cooperate with their air carrier, pack them instead into cattle cars and ship them off to Buchenwald.

The way forward is to have the migrants want to leave. There’s lots of ways to do that.
