Canadian Bar Association wants more euthanasia?

From LifeSite News

OTTAWA — The Canadian Bar Association is urging the federal government to expand its restrictive new law on assisted dying, allowing mature minors, people suffering strictly from psychological illnesses and those diagnosed with competence-eroding conditions like dementia to get medical help to end their suffering. (Huffington Post)More.

Reality check: As the government in Ontario, (never mind Canada) racks up huge debt, euthanasia is our health care and pension plan.

More kaffir euthanasia! You need to make room for the Umma!

Let me know the 1st time a doctor is forced to refer to an abortionist, and the first time a doctor is forced to do an abortion, at that point I’ll worry about euthanasia.

Fine let them lead by example, and then I’ll think about it.

It is almost impossible to force doctors to do something. They’re too valuable. If they refuse, it’s almost impossible to convict, or even inconvenience them, and if the state gets too heavy-handed, they can just move to greener pastures.
OTOH, if there are actually doctors that like killing folk, that could be a problem, albeit I don’t think it could get out of control, as such doctors would become very unpopular.
Funny, they have no plans to make suicide legal, only assisted suicide.
Even in liberal hell-holes like Belgium, where they can legally euthanize depressed children, the suicide rate is essentially unchanged.
It’s kinda like all the drunk-driving stuff of the 70’s-80’s: They used anecdotal evidence and sensationalist scare tactics (Think of the children!!!) to pass legislation that in the end had zero impact on average life expectancy, but gave sweeping powers to the state.
      Sadly, people aren’t too bright.

Euthanizing lawyers really doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

    • FactsWillOut

Funny, we’ve all known that since Shakespeare’s time, and yet here we are.
Lawyers are basically an opportunist infection that multiplies rapidly at the site of the wound that the parasitic state has made on civil society.

      • Slickfoot

        Perfect analogy.

Notice also how they gravitate to politics to become politicians.

          Very true.

I remember in the 90’s, seeing bumper stickers that said “Save The Environment. Kill Yourself.”
Then it was anti-enviro snark, but now…

Denyse, I’me sure you are aware that the vast majority of abortions are done on liberal folk. Do you have any evidence to suggest that if it were much more difficult to obtain abortions, that those lived saved would be on the right side of the spectrum? Myself, I’m inclined to believe that they would be inner-city welfare cases, and all you’d get for your efforts would be a larger and more powerful liberal voting block.

If a given principle could be correct just because it sounds good and moral, well then communism would work.
That ain’t the world we actually live in, however.
