Alumni cancel donations over social justice warrior protests

The social justice warriors making noise on campus are also making an impact on alumni. The NY Times reports some older, successful alumni are pulling back on donations because they are so turned off with what they see happening on their former campuses…

Hitting these campuses in the wallet is a good way to pave the path to reigning in those SJWanker troublemakers and their disruption.

      Imo … ‘and their corruption’

About time. Snowflakes deserve their fate. Which is to melt and disappear when the heat is on.

Sooner or later, this was bound to happen. If government was not about to turn off the subsidies to enforce even minimum standards of higher education, a grassroots backlash would develop.

It’s about time someone started using the power of the purse.

They’ll just raise prices and the students will be happy to pay them.

I’ve read that up to +60 % of all costs with respect to non-productive so-called social programs are already paid by taxpayers and other students in STEM programs.

So what? There is no iron law of nature that dictates that American universities are sacrosanct or have to be any good or even if any of their so called ‘graduates’ are literate. If American students want to go a quarter million dollars in debt going to Oberlin to get a degree that ends in ‘-studies’, who cares?

          Actions have consequences, I agree.

Just pointing out that taxpayers are paying a lot more than they think, to support sjws

Fair enough. But in a day and age where the very concept of ‘public university’ is vague I’m not sure it’s important any more. It used to be that Public U’s received MOST of their funding from public sources. Today I doubt the average is more than half. Some systems, like New York’s SUNY system only gets about 15% of their funding publicly. And the price differential between them and ‘private’ schools shows, eg. it’s almost invisible. Moreover – EVERY public system is routinely accused and often fined for breaking their own rules about out of state admission quotas because they can charge 2 or 3x more for them than in-state students.

It’s all pretty much a sham and I no longer care if it all implodes in fire.

Frankly, too little too late – this should have been happening about 40 years ago ; many expressed valid concerns but were ignored by cuckservatives and of course attacked by leftists. I know I did and of course I was ignored completely by faux conservatives. Real conservative minded people may be shocked to know who the fakirs are – many are still pretending to represent conservative minded people.

Glad to see Trigilypuff is now an icon of the church of SJW, and that depiction of her/it is perfect.
