Muslims joining Angela Merkel’s party in Germany ‘should sign anti-Sharia declaration’

MUSLIMS should be forced to renounce Sharia law before they are allowed to join Angela Merkel’s ruling party, a prominent German politician has said today.

Erika Steinbach unveiled proposals for an “anti-Sharia declaration” which would have to be signed by all Muslims who wanted to be part of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU).

The conservative politician and party human rights spokeswoman said Muslims should have to declare that Islamic law is not above the German constitution as part of a new heightened entry criteria for the party.

New members should also be banned from belonging to any organisation that is under surveillance by intelligence agencies, she added.
