Trump Is Right about Crime

The media rushes to downplay the post-Ferguson shooting and homicide surge—and its effect on black lives.

It is remarkable how little black lives matter when they have not been taken by a police officer. The mainstream media is foaming at the mouth over Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s warnings about rising crime during his Thursday night convention speech. Trump pointed out that homicides were up nearly 17 percent in the largest 50 cities. (The latest research actually shows a nearly 17 percent increase in the 56 largest cities). There have been more than 2,000 shooting victims this year in Chicago, he said, and more than 3,600 killed in Chicago since President Obama took office.

The overwhelming majority of the victims in this post-Ferguson shooting and homicide surge have been black.

No difference between the media and Bahgdad Bob. Nothing to see here!

“There have been more than 2,000 shooting victims this year in Chicago”

More shooting victims = louder shouts for gun control, so that part of the plan is working.

“The overwhelming majority of the victims…have been black”

More dead black people = more attention, money and pandering politicians for #blacklivesmatter, so that part of the plan is working too.

The soft bigotry of low expectations…

  • The problem no one wants to talk about.

Jesse Jackson is quoted as saying “There is nothing more painful to me … than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.”

As long as Jesse needs to profile young black young males, young black males will keep killing young black males.
