Kalashnikov rifle & ammunition found by French police in basement of man the Bastille Day attacker texted

French police have found a Kalashnikov rifle and a bag of ammunition in the basement of the man they believed received text messages from the Bastille Day attacker just minutes before the massacre.

According to a source close to the investigation, the raid was carried out as part of the investigation into the 22-year-old who allegedly discussed weapons with Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel on the night he drove a truck into a crowded promenade in Nice.

It comes as five suspects are due before anti-terror judges today as they investigate the massacre that left 84 dead and over 300 injured.
