Ontario’s economy less than it appears

On Monday, Ontario’s provincial government issued a news release celebrating the province’s economic performance, boasting that Ontario’s economic growth rate is currently higher than the Canadian average and forecasting Ontario will be “one of the fastest growing” provinces over the next two years.

Unfortunately, the condition of Ontario’s economy is much less rosy than the government suggests.

The reality is the province’s economic record is nothing to brag about.

I think they were using Alberta as the “average”.

The economic situation is weird. I am on vacation in South western Ontario in the heart of farm country. There is a lot of agricultural industry down here. Some looks to be doing well, some not. There appears to be a lot of real estate for sale. At the same time as there appears to be a lot of abandoned property there is no shortage of McMansion being built. Most of the people I see in the local town are Mexican migrant workers and a lot of businesses in the rather shabby town appear to cater specifically to those people. It’s hard to read what’s going on,but I don’t get the impression it’s very good.

This horses ass does not know what she is talking about and I am sorry about the comparison, because I don’t want to insult any horses. This he/she should resign before there is nothing left of Ontario.
