More PNP immigrants coming to P.E.I. during three-year pilot project

A three-year immigration pilot project will see 2,000 more immigrants and their families come to Atlantic Canada under the Provincial Nominee Program.

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot was announced Monday in Prince Edward Island following a joint meeting of the four Atlantic premiers together with federal cabinet ministers Lawrence MacAulay, John McCallum, Scott Brison, Navdeep Bains, Dominic LeBlanc and Judy Foote.

Immigration Minister John McCallum says he has heard loud and clear the Atlantic provinces wanted increases to current caps on immigration.

“I understand the need, I understand the desire, and we as a government are responding to it,” McCallum said.

Vote whoring and rent seeking are principle Maritime “political industries” for those averse to sweat dripping off their brows from honest work.

    Oh b.s. !
They’ll land the bastards in Atlantic Canada. Then, after 3 months. They’ll ship them west. It’s all smoke and mirrors just like every other scam by the elitists.

It gives the political assholes a nice photo op and makes them look all compassionate to their lefty base. Then once the headlines have faded they pawn the immigrants off to somebody else.

I guess voting 100% Liberal in a federal election has consequences.

Yeah, those who service thereby making a living off of them want more immigrants, but I’m quite certain no one else does.

Prince Edward Islanders are lovely welcoming people during Tourism Season. Outside of that time period, they are an insular population that is very reluctant to “let in” any “outsiders” – “outsiders” being any Canadians not born on the Island.

One would think that the country that was best personified as “Two Solitudes” back in the 1960s might have learned SOMETHING from its own history. Looks like it hasn’t.

This is going to turn PEI into a small, contained war zone which will be conveniently ignored by the MSM. You just wait and see…..

PEI with a population of roughly 150,000 is an excellent crucible for this kind of thing.
