Turkey ‘left its doors open to Isil’ say critics after Istanbul bombing

“Why do so many people have to die?,” a grieving relative of one of the victims of the Istanbul airport bombing screamed at Turkey’s prime minister as he visited the injured at a local hospital. “You are turning us into Syria.”

Ferhat Kabakci, whose brother-in-law was killed in one of the explosions at Ataturk International’s arrivals hall, demanded to know what the government was going to do to protect the country from the rising threat of terrorism.

“There are so many soldiers and police,” he said. “But no one can stop it.”

I’d ask Erdogan about that…
