Orlando killer was kicked out of prison guard training nine years ago after ‘talk of bringing a gun to class’

Orlando nightclub gunman Omar Mateen was ‘involuntarily dismissed’ from a corrections officer training program in 2007 after he reportedly talked about bringing a gun to class.

Mateen’s dismissal from the program came after he was in the academy for six months and within days of the tragic Virginia Tech shooting, documents released on Friday revealed.

‘He did not complete his academic program and was not certified as a correctional officer,’ the Florida Department of Corrections told CBS in a statement.
