Activist charged with assaulting Quebec premier at Orlando shooting vigil

MONTREAL—A transgendered-rights activist charged with assaulting Quebec’s premier during a vigil for the Orlando shooting massacre has been barred from contacting political parties, protesting or associating with members of the activist group Pink Bloc.

Esteban Torres Wicttorff, 20, agreed to those bail conditions in a Montreal courtroom Friday. Wicttorff has pleaded not guilty to two charges: assault using an unidentified object; and disturbing the peace. He is set to return to court on Sept. 15.
