Cheap but lethal: the makeshift gun used by Palestinian shooters in Tel Aviv terror attack

The scene captured by the Sarona market’s security cameras was a familiar one to Israeli security forces.

Two Palestinian gunmen, both dressed in suits, stood in the middle of the restaurant amid the bodies of their victims cradling small submachine guns.

But neither weapon seemed to be working.

      It is said you can find the schematics to make a Sten online as well. They are simple mechanical devices.

      Various resistance groups were producing them during WWII. There was a Norwegian bicycle shop that lent its tools and expertise to manufacture them, and the Israeli Haganah produced a considerable number of them as well.
