Broadening euthanasia in Canada

From some desperate, non-government-funded group that represents your right to live*:

Action Item: Contact the Senate Immediately

The Bill C-14 to legalize euthanasia in Canada has passed through the House of Commons and is now in the hands of the Senate. The Bill is being prepared for final vote possibly by the end of this week.

Despite some hope (based on the recommendations of the Senate Committee) that they might tighten up the language of the Bill to make it somewhat safer, late last night the Senate voted to amend the Bill and delete the requirement that a person’s death be “reasonably foreseeable”. This broadens the eligibility for “MAID” to include anyone, not just the dying.

Another amendment is supposed to be coming forward, from Conservative Senate leader Claude Carignan which would require an additional safeguard, a judge to sign off on any application for assisted dying by those who are not close to death.

LifeCanada is asking that all Canadians write to the Senate immediately.

Reality check: We are all “the fetus” now. And we have only the pro life movement’s angrily defended, endless parade of platform losers to defend us.
