Muhammad Ali has died

Who couldn’t find something to admire or at least enjoy about Ali?

The Greatest.

Muhammad Ali: Photos through the years

Oriana Fallaci thought he was a dick.
I think it depends on when (what era) you encounter him.

    • Oh heck I don’t agree with everything he did or said but for all his flaws he was the boxer and a huge personality.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

        Oh, I know that.
Yeah, his personality changed how sports figures acted.

        • DD_Austin

I think he and “boxing” lifted their whole act from pro
          wrestling, scripts and all .

“acted” is exactly the right word, they’re all actors now

        I prefer Leon Spinks.

  • jack burns

The parade of tomato cans. If Dundee wouldn’t have slit his glove his career would have stopped with Henry Cooper.

  • Maurice Miner

    Well, the fucker’s dead.

Allow for three or four days of obligatory outpouring of grief.

Hillary, get your pressers up and running! No-one will notice.

  • BillyHW

Wasn’t he a draft-dodging convert to Islam who didn’t even respect his mother enough to keep the name she gave him?

    • dance…dancetotheradio

At least Elvis did his service in the military.
I still can’t forgive him for the In The Ghetto.

      • Clausewitz

Blame Mac Davis, he’s the dude who wrote that song.

        • dance…dancetotheradio

          Didn’t he sing Raindrops?

          • Clausewitz

No, that was BJ Thomas. Mac Davis’ biggest hit was “Oh Lord it’s hard to be Humble”.

          • dance…dancetotheradio

Well I am perfect in so many ways.
            And others not so much.

    • T.C.

Not Islam. Was a convert to Nation of Islam, which is just unadulterated whacky-ness:

      • Exile1981

Nation of islam is islam mixed with black supremicy teachings.

  • ed

sssssh ! coward.draft dodger, cheat and a anti white racist . just saying

  • Hard Little Machine

He’s being seen as America’s Nelson Mandela which is both fairly accurate and very ironic at the same time.

    • General P. Malaise

why do people know so little of the history they lived?? neither Mandela no Mo-ham-ed were heroes or saints.

Mandela was in prison for terror acts which killed innocent people. he was a communist leading a communist uprising. he was the cause of more black deaths then the white ruling party in SA.
Mo was a black supremacist and very anti-white.

both are products of the communist led media.

      • Hard Little Machine

Sure sure but that’s the modern view of them.

        • T.C.

I think Mr. Machine was being a tad sarcastic with his comment.

  • Etobicoke_Gladiator

My grandfather was a big enough boxing fan to actually subscribe to a boxing magazine from the 1950s to 1970s, and he always referred to the man as “Cassius Clay”. Frankly, I’m of the opinion that the less Mohammeds (and all related variant spellings) exist in the world, the better off we all are. I don’t give a damn if he was able to box or not.

  • General P. Malaise

people who admire him are either evil or ignorant of his action. he is a slickly package product and he did not resemble the product the media pitched.

stop being fools and dupes. this person was not a role model.

    • Clausewitz

Style over substance, mouth over action. All that’s wrong with today’s sports.

  • DD_Austin

    Normally it’s RIP
    but this guy. it’s POS

  • Dana Garcia

His conversion to the Religion of Headchopping was always problematic for me. Did he ever criticize the barbaric murders of innocents in the name of the superior moongod? If so, I missed it.

    • Clausewitz

As a former Olympian boxer he was strangely silent when asked about the events of the Munich Olympics.

  • G

Don’t really care. Didn’t care a bit about him when he was alive. Care even less now that he’s dead.

  • Sid Falco

Before the house negroes like Spike Lee start weeping on tv, Clay betrayed Malcolm X on behalf of the Nation of Islam.

  • ontario john

Heart warming story on the news about his star and name being on the wall instead of the sidewalk on the Hollywood walk of fame. This is so no one walks on the name mohammad. Hollywood is very sensitive about religions. Well, one anyway.
