Free Speech Kaput In Germany: Court grants Erdogan injunction against comedian Jan Böhmermann

A court has granted an injunction against satirist Jan Böhmermann, preventing repetition of his so-called ‘Defamatory Poem’ about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The court decided the comic had crossed a line.

    The U.S. First Amendment core free speech right to criticize government and government officials was born from an examination of those things that most exemplify tyranny. Which rights of the people do tyrants try to take away? Those listed in U.S. bill of rights. Think of it as a check list, on the road to tyranny.
