Pig’s head found outside German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s local office
Police have found a pig’s head at the entrance to German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s constituency office in the northeastern town of Stralsund. The symbolism of the use of pork is strong.
Regional police said the pig’s head had an “insulting inscription” on it and had been found outside Merkel’s constituency office in the Baltic seaside town of Stralsund, in northeastern Germany, in the early hours of Saturday.
A regional police spokesman said the insults were directed at Merkel, who was first elected to parliament in Stralsund 26 years ago.
