Canada doesn’t need a First Lady #PrayforSophie

Seems when Sophie Gregoire Trudeau accompanied her husband, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, to Washington, D.C. in March, the one thing she came away with was a bigtime envy for Michelle Obama’s cozy little operation in the White House’s East Wing.

Well, maybe, “cozy” isn’t exactly the right word. The U.S. First Lady has a staff of 22, about the same as every First Lady since Nancy Reagan.

So you can imagine our poor PM’s wife’s embarrassment when, over entrees at the state dinner, Mrs. Obama may have asked, “and how many assistants do you have Soph?”

“Um, just one,” Gregoire Trudeau might have had to confess, sheepishly.
