Is Osama bin Laden’s son being groomed to take over as Al-Qaeda leader?

The son of Osama bin Laden may be gearing up to follow in his father’s footsteps after sending out an audiomessage urging jihadists in Syria to unite under one banner.

Addressing Islamist fighters in all groups in Syria, believed to also include Al-Qaeda rivals ISIS, Bin Laden said there was ‘no excuse’ for jihadists to fight one another.

Hamza bin Laden, believed to be 23 or 24 years old, was reportedly groomed by Osama to take over leadership of Al-Qaeda, and could now be preparing to step forward as his father’s heir.
